At Skradinski Buk, the route centres on marked paths, broad cascades, viewpoints and the historic mill area. Swimming is not permitted at the waterfall, so the visit is about walking, scenery and local context rather than a swim stop.
After Krka, continuing towards Plitvice is what makes the two-day plan efficient. Returning to Split would undo that advantage and create another long outbound journey the next morning.

The overnight removes the hardest part of a Plitvice day trip from Split: spending the best part of the morning driving to the park.
